The Tata Motors Group global wholesale figures including Jaguar Land Rover, were 114,920units in December 2011 which higher by 27% on a Y-o-Y basis. The cumulative sales for the fiscal are 865,400units higher by 12% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11. The global sales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range - were 53,854units in December 2011, a growth of 12%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 425,264 nos., a growth of 17%.

Land Rover has unveiled two new concepts for the Land Rover Defender. Named Defender Concept 100 (DC 100) and Defender Concept 100 Sport, the two concepts showcase the direction and thinking behind the ongoing development of the new Land Rover Defender, intended for production in 2015.

The Land Rover Defender Concept 100, a modern interpretation of the iconic Land Rover Defender will make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Land Rover also confirms today, that production of a new Defender is intended for 2015.

A new EU5 2.2-litre diesel engine replaces the EU4 2.4-litre diesel for 2011, bringing greater levels of performance and refinement to the 2012 Defender. The smaller capacity engine delivers the same power, torque and economy as its outgoing unit but makes this the cleanest Land Rover Defender yet produced. In EU5 markets, the new engine comes with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) to ensure the lowest possible levels of regulated emissions.

Following its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Land Rover is using the RAC Future Car Challenge as the first opportunity to showcase three of its Range_e concept models in the UK.The Land Rover Range_e is the latest manufacture to enter the event and has allocated three of its concept Range_e models, which made its debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show. This development model is equipped with an advanced plug-in hybrid diesel-electric powertrain that Land Rover expects to make available in future production models, following the scheduled launch of its diesel-electric hybrid in 2013.
