Tata Motors grew by 12% in 2011

The Tata Motors Group global wholesale figures including Jaguar Land Rover, were 114,920units in December 2011 which higher by 27% on a Y-o-Y basis. The cumulative sales for the fiscal are 865,400units higher by 12% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11. The global sales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range - were 53,854units in December 2011, a growth of 12%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 425,264 nos., a growth of 17%.

Land Rover supports IFRC for AIDS Day

Land Rover's partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is supporting World AIDS Day on 1 December 2011. The partnership forms part of an integrated approach to sustainability and the IFRC is one of Land Rover's six Global Humanitarian & Conservation Partners within Land Rovers Our Planet.

Range_e wins the Automotive Innovation award

Range_e, Jaguar Land Rover’s technology concept for a plug-in hybrid diesel-electric powertrain, has been honoured with the 2011 Award for Automotive Innovation by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The system, first revealed at the Geneva motor show in March, has been hailed by the auto industry as the most significant achievement of the year in UK research and development for the global market.

Jaguar introduces Speed and Sport Packs on XJ

Jaguar's flagship model - the XJ saloon - is now available with an optional Sport and Speed Pack. The Speed and Sport packs are available throughout the XJ range and compromise of a number of exterior and interior design options. Externally, the appearance of the XJ has been made even more aerodynamic with the addition of optimised changes to the bodywork and these packs also get a different set of sporty alloys. The interiors have undergone a change as well and the front seats in these cars are Jaguar's Performance version and they have the active ventilation which heats or chills them as per the requirement.

JLR India sales double

JLR supports Elephant Conservation Project

Jaguar Land Rover sponsored the 'Emeralds for Elephants' initiative which culminated in a jewellery auction to raise funds for elephant conservation in India. The auction was conducted to raise funds to establish a wild life corridor so that elephants can follow migratory routes and minimise human elephant conflict.

Jaguar Land Rover brands rank among the top five nameplates

According to J.D. Power and Associates 2011 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) StudySM released today, Jaguar and Land Rover brands rank among the top five nameplates, both with improved scores for 2011.  Jaguar ranks 2nd among nameplates for the fourth year in row with a score of 857; while Land Rover ranks 4thh among nameplates, up from 5th last year, with an overall score of 841. Land Rover's Range Rover is the award recipient for Large Premium Crossover/SUV, two years in a row.

Range Rover Evoque production commences

The new Range Rover Evoque passed an important milestone today when the first production vehicle was driven off the line at Land Rover’s Halewood manufacturing plant in Liverpool. Jaguar Land Rover's CEO, Ralf Speth together with JLR executive officers, union representatives and employees, gathered to celebrate the start of new Range Rover Evoque production. The first car to come off the line will be donated to the British Motor Industry Heritage trust.
