Jaguar to unveil the production version of the C-X16

Jaguar will make an announcement on the new production version of the C-X16 Concept at the New York Motor Show and this will begin a new generation for their model names. The production name for this Concept still remains under wraps and will be revealed at the Motor Show. The unveiling of the car shall be done at a latter stage. JLR signs Chery for a JV in China

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Chery Automobile Company Ltd have reached agreement on a proposed joint venture in China. The agreement follows extensive talks between JLR and Chery on establishing an equal partnership company. The scope of the proposed joint venture (JV) would include manufacture of JLR- and JV-branded vehicles; establishment of a research and development facility; engine manufacture; and sale of vehicles produced by the JV company.

Tata Motors global sales grow by 24%

The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 127,318units, in February 2012, higher by 24% over February 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 1,112,518, higher by 15% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.

JLR opens a new showroom in Gurgaon; plans to open 24 by year end

Jaguar Land Rover continues to accelerate its dealership expansion programme, which started with the first showroom in Mumbai in mid-2009. The Company now has fifteen operational outlets in thirteen cities and has plans to expand this to twenty four outlets by the end of 2012. The latest dealership, a flagship facility, was opened today in a high end part of Gurgaon, Haryana, and increased the number of outlets in the Delhi region to three. Spanning three floors and covering 12,000 square feet, the new dealership boasts impressive facilities such as two floors of car displays, an extensive customer lounge and vast customer parking.

Tata Motors grew by 12% in 2011

The Tata Motors Group global wholesale figures including Jaguar Land Rover, were 114,920units in December 2011 which higher by 27% on a Y-o-Y basis. The cumulative sales for the fiscal are 865,400units higher by 12% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11. The global sales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range - were 53,854units in December 2011, a growth of 12%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 425,264 nos., a growth of 17%.

Range_e wins the Automotive Innovation award

Range_e, Jaguar Land Rover’s technology concept for a plug-in hybrid diesel-electric powertrain, has been honoured with the 2011 Award for Automotive Innovation by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The system, first revealed at the Geneva motor show in March, has been hailed by the auto industry as the most significant achievement of the year in UK research and development for the global market.

Jaguar introduces Speed and Sport Packs on XJ

Jaguar's flagship model - the XJ saloon - is now available with an optional Sport and Speed Pack. The Speed and Sport packs are available throughout the XJ range and compromise of a number of exterior and interior design options. Externally, the appearance of the XJ has been made even more aerodynamic with the addition of optimised changes to the bodywork and these packs also get a different set of sporty alloys. The interiors have undergone a change as well and the front seats in these cars are Jaguar's Performance version and they have the active ventilation which heats or chills them as per the requirement.
