Volkswagen is due to launch the new Jetta on the 17th of August. One of our avid readers Manoj Thawani, spotted one of the Jetta on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway as they were doing their final testing.

Volkswagen had recently launched the Passat and now the German automaker is ready to launch the new Jetta in the month of August. Last month we had predicted the launch to be in August and the launch date is now confirmed to be on the 17th.

Volkswagen will launch its new Jetta in the latter half of August. The new Jetta will be powered by a 2-litre 140bhp CR engine which even propels the Skoda Laura.

The Volkswagen Group continues to enjoy positive sales development. A total of 2.94 million vehicles were sold in the first five months of the year 2010. This corresponds to growth of 18.1 percent. In the month of May, the Group sold 604,200 (556,500, +8.6 percent) vehicles.

Volkswagen, one of the latest entrants into the Indian market has already garnered everyone’s attention with its sales growth in the first couple of the months of the new year. Its month on month sales increased by 230% in January 2010 as compared to January 2009 and an increase of 168% in February 2010 as compared to February 2009.
