Hyundai Motor India would be increasing the prices of its products by up to 1.2% across all models, from the 1st of September 2010. This increase is attributed to the increase in input costs. The Verna Transform (read road test here) is the latest offering from the Hyundai stable and the i10 and the i20 have certainly brought in the moolah for the company. Since the rise is across segments, the costs will of course still compete with the other manufacturers but only time will tell if the costing has made any difference to the sale of the car.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd registered its growth in the domestic sales by 24.2% over the same month last year.  HMIL’s total sales for July, 2010 stood at 50,411 units as against 45,539 units in July, 2009 registering a 10.7% cumulative growth over the same period last year. The domestic sales accounted for 28,811 units as against 23,193 units in July, 2009 while the exports declined by 3.3% from 22,346 units in July, 2009 to 21,600  units in July, 2010.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, today launched an all new i20 in two new variants – the Era and the Sportz. The Era has been introduced with both the petrol and diesel engine as the price leading variant while the Sportz will bridge the price and feature gap between the Magna and Asta.

At the time when the whole world is talking about getting back to normalcy after the global recession, the auto segment in India continues to create records. Hyundai Motors India today said that they have achieved a significant milestone with its cumulative exports crossing the 10 lakh mark.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) organized the ‘Miles & Smiles Rally 2010’ for the i20 customers covering a distance of approximately 81 kms. The rally was flagged off from Hotel Crowne Plaza, New Friends Colony and culminated at the same point.

Hyundai Motors India Limited are nothing if not committed to the Indian market. In just over ten years, they’ve come a long way, from a brand that no one had heard of to the second-biggest player in the market. They’re particularly good at making small cars, but the i20 is the ‘big’ hatchback in their portfolio. HMIL has now given their customers more choice with a 90bhp diesel and a 100bhp petrol, both displacing 1.4 litres.

Hyundai launched the i20 with a 1.2-litre petrol engine last year. The precise reason for using the 1.2-litre was to get the duty cut. But the engine never did justice to the car in terms of performance.

The European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) announced that the Hyundai i20 has gained the maximum possible score and has been awarded the five star NCAP rating for safety. The i20 five-door model scored well on all four parameters of the NCAP safety test which assess newly launched cars on four main criteria of safety – adult occupancy, child protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist.

Hyundai will launch the diesel variant of its i20 by the end of this year. The company plans to launch two cars annually for the next couple of years.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) registered an overall growth for the month of November, 2008, even though the domestic sales dipped by 23%. The exports grew by 188%.
