Hyundai Motors India Limited have made their intentions clear of launching 6 cars in the next three years. The company plans to launch two new cars each year and have an expansion plan in place. HMIL will be the official sponsor for the ICC 2011 Cricket World Cup which will be held in India, Bangladesh and SriLanka. The company has had a phenomenal amount of success when it comes to the small car industry in India and now with its new SUV, the Santa Fe, it plans to broaden its command over the Indian automotive market.

Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) played host to a limited audience for a visit to their plant in Chennai. The ride from the airport to the plant was estimated to be around an hour and a half. We passed the roads of a state where politics was defined by a demigod named Karunanidhi and regional films boasted of a God named Rajnikanth. With posters pasted on either side of the road which lead to the plant, the beginning of the hour long journey already looked interesting. The Hyundai H1 that we were travelling gave the word ‘comfort’, a whole new meaning and the somewhat long journey was a breeze.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL),  reached the 20 lakh (2 million) mark sale figure mark in the domestic market. The first Santro rolled out in September, 1998. Hyundai Motor achieved the feat of reaching the 20 lakh car production for domestic market in a span of 12 years. With these achievements, HMIL becomes only the second manufacturer in India to have achieved these distinctions.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), and Oriental Bank of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at providing easy finance options for their respective customers. The MoU was signed by Mr. Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing & Sales, HMIL and Mr. S.C. Das, Deputy General Manager- Marketing, Oriental Bank of Commerce on behalf of their respective organisations. 

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) opened its 300th dealership in Karur, Tamil Nadu.  HMIL has set a target to increase the dealership network to 320 by the end of 2010. In addition to its 300 dealerships, HMIL has an additional network of 112 sales outlets along with 130 Hyundai Advantage dealers which is the company’s pre-owned car business.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) today launched its 9th nationwide Free Car Care Clinic. The Clinic to be held from 22 – 31 October, 2010 and will be conducted at 429 Hyundai dealer workshops across the country. The customers will also be able to avail this free check-up service at 30 Hyundai Authorized Service Centers (HASC) across India.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd and ING Vysya Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed to mutually benefit both companies by better serving their customers. The MoU was signed by Mr. Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing & Sales, HMIL and Mr. Uday Sareen, Country Head, ING Vysya Bank, India on behalf of their respective organisations. 

Hyundai Motor India Ltd registered a growth of 17.2%, over the same month last year, in domestic sales. HMIL’s total sales for August, 2010 stood at 50,636 units as against 49,521 units in August, 2009 registering a 2.3 % cumulative growth over the same period last year. The domestic sales accounted for 28,601 units as against 24,401 units in August, 2009 while the exports declined by 12.3 % from 25,120 units in August, 2009 to 22,035 units in August, 2010.

Hyundai Motor India would be increasing the prices of its products by up to 1.2% across all models, from the 1st of September 2010. This increase is attributed to the increase in input costs. The Verna Transform (read road test here) is the latest offering from the Hyundai stable and the i10 and the i20 have certainly brought in the moolah for the company. Since the rise is across segments, the costs will of course still compete with the other manufacturers but only time will tell if the costing has made any difference to the sale of the car.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, today launched an all new i20 in two new variants – the Era and the Sportz. The Era has been introduced with both the petrol and diesel engine as the price leading variant while the Sportz will bridge the price and feature gap between the Magna and Asta.
