The new Hyundai i20 is here

Hyundai launched the new i20 today. The new avatar is called the i-Gen i20 and this shall be available in 12 variants. The petrol variants range from Rs 473,400 to Rs 665,894, the diesel variants range from Rs 596,334  to Rs 744,013 and the  automatic variant is priced at Rs 767,405 (all ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Hyundai reveals images of the new i20

Hyundai has released the first image of the All New i20, ahead of its world premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.  The new model features refreshed styling and enhanced equipment.Among the four powertrain options available to buyers of the All New i20 will be the new 1.1-litre, 3-cylinder ‘U-II’ diesel engine that generates 75bhp. The engine was developed at Hyundai’s Diesel Centre of Excellence – part of the European R&D set-up in Rüsselsheim, Germany – and showcases Hyundai’s expertise in clean diesel technology.

Hyundai i20 CRDi nows comes with a 5-speed gearbox

Last year, when Hyundai had given a facelift to the i20, it had added one more gear to the CRDi engine making it a 6-speed manual transmission. The changes even included a new front grille and blue backlight interiors.

Hyundai cuts down on exports, increases sales in Domestic market

Hyundai Motor India Ltd continued to grow at 5.3 % in the month of February, 2011. HMIL’s total sales for February, 2011 stood at 52,007 units as against 54,610 units in February, 2010 registering a decline of 4.8%. The domestic sales accounted for 32,629 units as against 31,001 units in February, 2010 while the exports dipped by 17.9% from 23,609 units in February, 2010 to 19,378 units in February, 2011.

Hyundai Motors India sales grow by 23.1% in December

Hyundai Motor India Ltd domestic sales grew by 23.1% while exports saw a decline of 8.5%. Cumulative growth stood at 7.8% for the year ending December, 2010. HMIL’s total sales for December, 2010 stood at 47,228 units as against 47,217 units in December, 2009 while the cumulative sales almost remained the same. The domestic sales growth however registered a healthy growth of 17.6% over 2009 and stood at 26,168 units as compare to 22,252 units for 2009. Exports dipped by 15.6% to 21,060 units in 2010 against 24,965 units in 2009.

Hyundai Motor India plan to setup Diesel Engine Plant

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), will soon be setting up a greenfield plant in India. The company will be spending Rs. 400 crore for this very purpose. This plant will be utilised to build 1.5 lakh diesel engines. Though the plants' location is not finalised as of now,  the company will be looking at expanding its reach throughout the country.

Hyundai Motors invites select Journalists to its Chennai Plant

Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) played host to a limited audience for a visit to their plant in Chennai. The ride from the airport to the plant was estimated to be around an hour and a half. We passed the roads of a state where politics was defined by a demigod named Karunanidhi and regional films boasted of a God named Rajnikanth. With posters pasted on either side of the road which lead to the plant, the beginning of the hour long journey already looked interesting. The Hyundai H1 that we were travelling gave the word ‘comfort’, a whole new meaning and the somewhat long journey was a breeze.

Hyundai Bags Two Awards At The 12th FIEO ‘Niryat Shree’ Awards

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has been conferred with the coveted 'Niryat Shree’ Gold and Silver Trophies for 2008-09 by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO). HMIL was awarded the Gold Trophy in the Engineering and Metallurgical products – Non-MSME category and the Silver Trophy in the Highest Foreign Exchange Earner category.
