Hyundai Motors India Limited have made their intentions clear of launching 6 cars in the next three years. The company plans to launch two new cars each year and have an expansion plan in place. HMIL will be the official sponsor for the ICC 2011 Cricket World Cup which will be held in India, Bangladesh and SriLanka. The company has had a phenomenal amount of success when it comes to the small car industry in India and now with its new SUV, the Santa Fe, it plans to broaden its command over the Indian automotive market.

Hyundai WIA  announced the commencement of its operations in India. As part of the Hyundai Motor Group, Hyundai WIA produces automotive parts, machine tools and heavy machinery and will set up a plant near Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu which will provide employment opportunities to substantial number of people in phased manner.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd domestic sales grew by 23.1% while exports saw a decline of 8.5%. Cumulative growth stood at 7.8% for the year ending December, 2010. HMIL’s total sales for December, 2010 stood at 47,228 units as against 47,217 units in December, 2009 while the cumulative sales almost remained the same. The domestic sales growth however registered a healthy growth of 17.6% over 2009 and stood at 26,168 units as compare to 22,252 units for 2009. Exports dipped by 15.6% to 21,060 units in 2010 against 24,965 units in 2009.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), will soon be setting up a greenfield plant in India. The company will be spending Rs. 400 crore for this very purpose. This plant will be utilised to build 1.5 lakh diesel engines. Though the plants' location is not finalised as of now,  the company will be looking at expanding its reach throughout the country.

We recently spotted Hyundai's next venture into the Indian car market, the all new Elantra. The 2011 Elantra a.k.a the Avante was unveiled at the Busan Auto Show in South Korea and now will be soon seen in India. We spotted the car during its test runs and we expect the all new sedan to hit the Indian roads in the later half of 2011. We did not get a chance to see the interiors of the car but by the looks of it the one which was tested was a left-hand drive.

Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) played host to a limited audience for a visit to their plant in Chennai. The ride from the airport to the plant was estimated to be around an hour and a half. We passed the roads of a state where politics was defined by a demigod named Karunanidhi and regional films boasted of a God named Rajnikanth. With posters pasted on either side of the road which lead to the plant, the beginning of the hour long journey already looked interesting. The Hyundai H1 that we were travelling gave the word ‘comfort’, a whole new meaning and the somewhat long journey was a breeze.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Allahabad Bank. The MoU was signed by Mr. Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing & Sales, HMIL and Mr. Bibhas Kumar Srivastav, General Manager, Retail Banking, Allahabad Bank on behalf of their respective organizations.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd continued to grow at a steady pace with domestic sales growing at 12% for the month of November, 2010. HMIL’s total sales for November, 2010 stood at 44,542 units as against 55,241 units in November, 2009 registering a decline of 19.4%.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL),  reached the 20 lakh (2 million) mark sale figure mark in the domestic market. The first Santro rolled out in September, 1998. Hyundai Motor achieved the feat of reaching the 20 lakh car production for domestic market in a span of 12 years. With these achievements, HMIL becomes only the second manufacturer in India to have achieved these distinctions.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. renewed its corporate identity standards to ensure uniform brand identity and competitiveness across showrooms and workshops for its customers. The implementation of the new Corporate Identity standards will happen across Hyundai Motor Company globally.
