Fiat India had recently launched the 2012 versions of the Linea and the Grande Punto. The biggest upgrade in these new year models has been the increase in the ground clearance of the cars.

The Chevrolet Beat diesel comes with a three-pot engine that displaces 936cc churning 58.5bhp of power and 150nm of torque. Most of the equipment on the Beat diesel remains the same except for the fact that it will be the first Chevrolet in India to get electronic power steering. Fiat India Automobiles Ltd. welcomed a host of guests from around the country as they gathered in Pune to drive down their favourite Fiat cars to the Fiat factory in Ranjangaon. 60 Fiat cars came together from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Trivandrum and Pune. The guest list consisted of Fiat enthusiasts and owners of Fiat cars. Around 125 people made their way early morning to Pune after which the convoy of enthusiasts which included Rajeev Kapoor, President and CEO, Fiat India Automobiles, headed off to Fiat’s Ranjangaon plant. 

Fiat India flagged off the 'Securing Borders Drive' at Chetana College, Bandra. The purpose of this 18- day long drive is to pay homage to all the heroes who died defending the nation. Fiat has provided the students and the accompanying staff with two of the recently launched 90 hp Grande Punto Multijet. The car will travel through different terrains and will give the students a view of the India-Pakistan border at different legs.

Fiat India announced its total sales (including exports) of FIAT branded vehicles in July, 2010. The number of units sold by the company  stood at 2,489. The company’s cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal currently stands at 9020 vehicles as against 7867 vehicles sold last year.

The Fiat Grande Punto 1.3L with a 90 hp multijet, first made headlines when it was showcased in the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The car, with the Fiat Linea diesel engine, was launched in Delhi today.
