GM launches Safety Drive in Bangalore

Chevrolet achieves its best global sales in 2011

GM India's Halol Plant bags National Safety Award

General Motors India has won the prestigious National Safety Awards 2011, for its various safety initiatives and programmes undertaken by the company at its manufacturing facility at Halol. This is the third consecutive win in a row that validates the automaker’s continued commitment for implementing the highest safety standards. The company’s Halol plant has been selected for its best safety systems under the category of ‘Low Incident Rate’ & Runners Up in the ‘Highest Safe Manhours’ (Manufacturer of Motor Vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers).

GM India gets a new MD

Lowell Paddock has been appointed as the new President and Managing Director of General Motors India, effective from next year. He will succeed Karl Slym, who moves to GM's largest operations in China as Executive Vice President of SAIC and Wuling Motors, that manufactures mini-commercial vehicles and passenger cars.

GM showcases the electric version of the Beat

General Motors India today showcased the Chevrolet Beat Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) as part of the ongoing celebrations of World Environment Day. The demonstration vehicle will be used by GM India to showcase the effectiveness of battery electric vehicle technology in India.  GM India engineers will also use the vehicle to address potential cost savings to help make BEVs more affordable for global customers.

General Motors registers a marginal growth of 1.3% this May
