Toyota had launched its Fortuner in mid-2009 and with increase in its competition; Toyota is likely to give the existing Fortuner a facelift next year. This updated Fortuner is likely to be launched sometime in early 2012. The engine is likely to remain the same.

Toyota Motors announced an increase in the prices of its key models, effective April 1, 2011. The price increase of the Innova, Corolla Altis and Fortuner will range from 1 - 1.5%. The company follows the footsteps of many other car companies that have announced this increase in price.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor registered a growth of 41% as they saw they sold 9726 units in March. The growth was largely driven by the sales of the Etios with 3257 units sold in Mar 2011.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors registered a growth of 38% in sales in the year 2010, compared to last year. It sold 74759 units in the calendar year 2010 against 54320 units in 2009. The past year was a good one for Toyota for the company launched the Etios, which received phenomenal response and the unveiling of the Liva, its hatchback, which has generated a fair amount curiosity about the car.

BMW launched their cheapest car yet in India, the BMW X1. BMW's SUV is priced at at Rs 22 lakhs - Rs 29.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The company will assemble the X1 from its Chennai plant. As we said, the car will come in petrol and diesel variants (read post here). While the petrol option, BMW X1 sDrive 18i, will be available for Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the diesel variant will have two options, X1 sDrive 20d and will be priced at Rs 23.9 lakh and X1 sDrive 20d Exclusive priced at Rs 29.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has registered a growth of 17% in sales in October 2010 compared to the same period last year. It sold 6602 units in October 2010 against 5650 units in October last year.A growth of 49% has been recorded for the period January to October 2010, over the same period last year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced an increase in prices of its key models, effective October 1, 2010. The price increase of the Innova, Corolla Altis and Fortuner will be upto 1.50 per cent.The price of the Toyota Innova will increase by Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 17,000. The Corolla Altis on the other hand will also see a rise in price of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 14,000 and the Toyota Fortuner will be witness to a price hike of around Rs. 29,000.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. announced the introduction of the ‘Fortuner Anniversary Edition’. The car has already sold 10,000 units in its first year of launch in India. The Toyota Fortuner was launched on August 24, 2009. The Anniversary Edition of the Fortuner has an enhanced sporty exterior that will be available only in Pearl White colour.
