The much loved and ever appreciated Ford Figo has already and steadily gathered a pile of awards to its name. Beginning with the Car of the Year award, the Figo was the frontrunner in helping Ford to win the 'Manufacturer of the Year' award. More than 60,000 Figos have been sold since March and Ford India recorded an impressive annual sales increase of 184% as compared to 2009.

The Ford Figo (read road test)was selected as Indian Car of the Year 2011 today, earning the country’s top automotive award in the fiercely competitive and rapidly growing Indian market. Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India, accepted the award from Dr. R.P. Singhania, vice chairman and managing director, JK Tyre & Industries, at a ceremony in Mumbai today. Ford India had exported about 170 cars to South Africa from the Chennai port. The Ford company that’s based in Chennai, found it cheaper to export from the Chennai port rather than the Mumbai port, from where its earlier exports took place.
