Fiat and Suzuki Motor Corporation are continuing to expand their existing fruitful long term business relationship. The parties have reached a further agreement for the supply of Fiat’s 1.3-litre MultiJet 75bhp BS-IV Small Diesel Engine produced under license by Fiat India Automobiles Limited (FIAL), the joint venture between Fiat and Tata Motors, to Suzuki’s affiliate company Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL).

With Christmas around the corner and the 2012 just weeks away, Fiat is offering discounts massive discounts on the Linea and the Grande Punto. On the 3rd of January, Fiat is unveiling the 2012 models of the Grande Punto and the Linea.

Fiat India is likely to deal the small car that they were supposed to launch next year. The small car that Fiat is supposed to introduce will be placed a segment below the existing Grande Punto and will be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine.

The Linea, Grande Punto and 500 are Fiat's current offerings to the Indian car market. The Italian manufacturer has plans to introduce a hatchback in a segment which is notch below the Grande Punto.

Fiat India Automobiles Ltd has appointed Mr. Enrico Atanasio as the senior vice president of commercial operations. Mr. Atanasio will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of commercial operations, which include growth through product  innovation, network excellence and developing Fiat brand in alliance with the company’s mission.

Fiat has always shared a large fan base in India and the response to the Punto and the Linea speak volumes of the company’s success here. Fiat now plans to bring a small car in the Indian market and we expect it to be the Palio. The Palio has always had a special place in the hearts of Fiat car lovers and enthusiasts alike.

The Tata Motors Group global sales including Jaguar Land Rover, were 90,294 nos. in December 2010, a growth of 21% over December 2009. Global sales of all passenger vehicles were 42,126 nos. in December 2010, higher by 13%.

As we turn the pages to a new year we cannot help but flip it to the other side and take count of the year gone by. The automotive industry in India has witnessed over 50 car launches this month and that nearly brings it down to approximately 4 or more cars a month. The rise in the number of cars was seen across segments and this showed how car manufacturers managed to reach out to their target audience. Fiat India Automobiles Ltd. welcomed a host of guests from around the country as they gathered in Pune to drive down their favourite Fiat cars to the Fiat factory in Ranjangaon. 60 Fiat cars came together from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Trivandrum and Pune. The guest list consisted of Fiat enthusiasts and owners of Fiat cars. Around 125 people made their way early morning to Pune after which the convoy of enthusiasts which included Rajeev Kapoor, President and CEO, Fiat India Automobiles, headed off to Fiat’s Ranjangaon plant.
