NGV Conference kickstarts in Mumbai

The much awaited Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) conference kick-started from today in Mumbai. The conference cum exhibition will be open for a duration of three days with eminent speakers discussing about not only the growth opportunities but also answering the queries of those visiting these discussions. As said by one of the speakers the conference will be business, knowledge and social exchange spread across three days. The exhibition was declared open by Mr. Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas. He went on to say how important conferences such as these were as they got together some brilliant minds and also make the public understand that there are enough and more ways to counter the epidemic of pollution.

NGV India 2010 Eco Drive

A first-of-its-kind intercity awareness drive to popularise CNG as a clean fuel in India for vehicles was flagged off by the Hon. Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri. Murli Deora today. The “NGV India 2010 CNG Eco Drive” comprised a fleet of 40 CNG vehicles, which traveled from Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai via Panvel to Chinchwad in Pune. Shri. Gurudas Kamat, Minister of State for Information Technology and Communications, Shri. Sanjay Nirupam, Member of Parliament, Mumbai North, Smt Priya Dutt, Member of Parliament, Mumbai, North-Central, Amin Patel, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Mumbadevi, Shri Naseem Khan Member of the Legislative Assembly from Chandivali, Shri Kripa Shankar Singh, state Congress president, Shri B C Tripathi, Chairman and Managing Director GAIL (India) Limited, Shri Prabhat Singh, Director Marketing GAIL, Shri V C Chittoda, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited and Shri M Ravindran, CEO Gail Gas Ltd also graced the occasion at the flag-off ceremony today.

Maruti Suzuki India Unveils CNG Technology in Five Cars

Maruti Suzuki India Limited today unveiled its flagship CNG engine technology, ‘intelligent-Gas Port Injection’ or i-GPI on five popular models. With Independence Day around the corner, Maruti Suzuki India Limited sure has taken a giant leap to spread the message of 'Go Green' in the country. The CNG vehicles were unveiled by Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Environment and Forests. The models include the Maruti Suzuki SX4, Eeco, WagonR, Estilo and Alto and are being launched in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Gujrat.

GM India Launches CNG Version of Chevrolet Aveo

General Motors India on Friday launched the CNG version of its Chevrolet Aveo mid-size sedan at a ceremony presided over by its President and Managing Director Mr. Karl Slym.  The Aveo CNG is priced at Rs. 6,31,257 (ex-showroom Mumbai) and is a bi-fuel vehicle that comes with a 45-litre fuel tank.

Maruti To Launch New Wagon R CNG And Alto CNG This August

Toyota Corolla Altis CNG Coming Next Month

Toyota plans to launch the Corolla Altis CNG next month just in time for Diwali sales. After the Innova CNG, the Corolla Altis is the next Toyota vehicle to come factory fitted with a CNG kit. Currently, the only other car in the Corolla's segment to have an alternate fuel option is the Chevrolet Optra CNG, since now the Cedia LPG has been discontinued.
