BMW Launches the X1 at Rs. 22 lakhs

BMW launched their cheapest car yet in India, the BMW X1. BMW's SUV is priced at at Rs 22 lakhs - Rs 29.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The company will assemble the X1 from its Chennai plant. As we said, the car will come in petrol and diesel variants (read post here). While the petrol option, BMW X1 sDrive 18i, will be available for Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the diesel variant will have two options, X1 sDrive 20d and will be priced at Rs 23.9 lakh and X1 sDrive 20d Exclusive priced at Rs 29.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

General Motors Indias November 2010 Sales grow by 18 percent

General Motors India registered a growth of 18% in sales in November 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 8376 units in November 2010 against 7118 units sold in November, 2009.  The November 2010 sales comprised 2786 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 2547 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1476 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 617 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 297 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 291 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 262 units of Chevrolet Optra and 100 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.

General Motors Indias October 2010 Sales grow by 36 percent

General Motors India has registered a growth of 36% in sales in October 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 10051 units in October 2010 against 7413 units in October 2009. The October 2010 sales comprised 3251 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 3021 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1594 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 957 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 405 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 328 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 333 units of Chevrolet Optra and 162 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.

Hyundai Motor India Launches SantaFe at 20.95 Lakhs

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has just launched the SantaFe, their luxury SUV, in the Indian market. This will be their most premium offering in the country and is a technology showcase for the company. The SantaFe is a seven seater and is powered by a 2.2litre (2199cc), four cylinder, DOHC (16Valve), CRDi engine with an Electrically controlled Variable geometry Turbo for better acceleration and improved in-gear response times.

General Motors India September Sales grow by 13 percent

General Motors India has registered an impressive growth of 13% in sales in September 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 8617 units in September 2010 against 7654 units in September 2009. The September 2010 sales comprised 2753 units of Chevrolet Beat, 2424 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 1578 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 847 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 325 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 287 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 236 units of Chevrolet Optra and 167 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.

General Motors India celebrates 2nd Anniversary of Talegaon Plant

General Motors India marked the completion of two years of operations of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Talegaon in Pune, Maharashtra. With a total production capacity of 140, 000 per annum currently, GM India plans to commission 160,000 unit Powertrain (Engine) Plant at the Talegaon plant premises by the end of this year. This will be the first flexi-engine plant for General Motors globally wherein both petrol and diesel small car engines are going to be manufactured together.

GM Registers 34 percent Sales Growth in August

General Motors India has registered a sales growth of 34% in August 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 7941 units in August 2010 against 5939 units in August 2009. The August 2010 sales comprised 2481 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 2475 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1438 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 724 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 325 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 240 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 176 units of the Chevrolet Captiva and 82 units of Chevrolet Optra.

Skoda Yeti Coming This September

The Skoda Yeti 4x4 was first showcased in the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009 and we soon saw the first Skoda Yeti rolling off the assembly line at Skoda’s plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic. India got to see this mythical beast at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. We also got a glimpse of the Hyderabad International Auto Show last month. The Yeti will be launched in October this year. The car will hit the showrooms all across India soon and it will then make its public appearance. The booking of the vehicle will commence soon after that. General Motors India registered a sales growth of 45% in July 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year. GM India Displays its Cars at the Hyderabad International Auto Show 2010
