Over 50 car Launches in the year 2010

As we turn the pages to a new year we cannot help but flip it to the other side and take count of the year gone by. The automotive industry in India has witnessed over 50 car launches this month and that nearly brings it down to approximately 4 or more cars a month. The rise in the number of cars was seen across segments and this showed how car manufacturers managed to reach out to their target audience. With a lot of research and thought put into their products car manufacturers are now getting to adjust to the pulse of the Indian people.

Volvo to Launch XC60 this November

Volvo Auto India firmed up plans for the launch of its latest offering Volvo XC60 on the 24th of November this year. Speaking on the occasion was  Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India. He said, "We believe in innovating for life and Volvo XC60 bears testimony to our commitment. It is essential to establish the differentiator in one’s offering, the XC60 will not only redefine our technological DNA, but will also form an integral part of our volume expansion strategy for India going forward."

Maruti Suzuki Launches the New Alto K10

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has launched the much awaited small car the Alto K10. The Alto K10 will be available in two trims – the LXi and the VXi and will boast of a refined and fuel efficient 67bhp, 998cc, three cylinder engine that will give fuel economy figures of 20.2 kilometers to the litre, according to the company. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. claims that the car goes form 0-100 kmph in 13.3 seconds.

Jaguar XJ Has Now Been Launched in India

Jaguar Land Rover has begun deliveries of the iconic Jaguar XJ in India.  The car was shown in India during the Delhi Auto Expo in January this year. Commenting on the occasion, Mr S Krishnan, Tata Motors’ Senior Vice President (Commercial), Passenger Car Business Unit, said, “We notice a very intense aspiration in India to own an XJ. We are encouraged by the number of customers who have expressed a desire to own this iconic car.”

Tata launches Nano; CarWale drives it

Tata Motors just launched people's car of India, the Nano. As promised by Mr Tata, the Nano has a price tag of Rs.1,00,000 (ex-factory). The car is available in three versions i.e. base, CX (has AC) and LX (has AC and front power windows). Ex-showroom prices (New Delhi) of Nano are 1,23,360 for base, 1,51,360 for CX and 1,72,360 for top-end LX variant.
