General Motors India on Friday launched the CNG version of its Chevrolet Aveo mid-size sedan at a ceremony presided over by its President and Managing Director Mr. Karl Slym.  The Aveo CNG is priced at Rs. 6,31,257 (ex-showroom Mumbai) and is a bi-fuel vehicle that comes with a 45-litre fuel tank.

Ever since the BS IV norm has come into effect, there has been much talk about the existing BS III norms; vehicle categories it has been implemented; the technical changes in fuel formation and engine for vehicles and the investment required for meeting the new standards.

Maruti Suzuki will tweak SX4’s engine by increasing the torque by 20-30Nm. This new more powerful engine will fulfill the Bharat Stage IV emission norms which will be levied from April 2010 across 11 Indian major cities.

Automobile Research Association of India (ARAI) has certified that HM-Mitsubishi Motors’ ‘Outlander’ has surpassed the BS IV (Bharath Stage Four) emission. The certificate - “AAEN0339” was awarded to Mitsubishi Outlander on 30th May ’09.’Outlander’ becomes the SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) in India to be awarded so by ARAI.
