Located in New Delhi and built with an investment of 30 million rupees in association with DEG Germany, the training centre will cater to the north Indian market. Bosch to set-up a facility in Chennai

Bosch Electrical Drives India Private Ltd. (A joint Venture with Igarashi Motors India Pvt. Ltd) has announced that it shall be setting up a plant in the Chennai region during the recently conducted ground breaking ceremony of the facility. The plant that is expected to be functional by end of 2012 will produce Wiper systems, Engine cooling fan modules, HVAC blowers and Window lift drives products.

Bosch to spend 50 million euros on higher education: 22.8 million to be spent in India

The Bosch Group is expanding its higher education funding and launching a new global initiative by investing a total of 50 million euros to provide support for universities and research projects in Germany, China, India, and the U.S. over the next ten years. The initiative – the Bosch InterCampus Program – aims to achieve lasting improvements in research conditions for undergraduates and scientists in the university sphere, thereby accelerating progress in the highly promising fields of the environment, energy, and mobility. In 2011 alone, Bosch will take on 9,000 university graduates worldwide – 1,200 of them in Germany.

Bosch opens High-tech Facility in Vietnam

Bosch marked the official opening of a high-tech facility in Vietnam for the production of push belts used for Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) in automobiles. Situated at Long Thanh Industrial Zone, Dong Nai Province, the plant is part of the Bosch Group's Gasoline Systems division and spans over a land area of 160,000 square meters. It will produce up to 1.6 million push belts in its first year, which can be fitted into vehicles ranging from sub-compact cars to sports utility vehicles with diesel, gasoline or hybrid engines.

Daimler and Bosch establish a JV for Electric Motors

Daimler AG and Robert Bosch GmbH plan to expand their long-standing partnership and cooperate in the development and production of electric motors for all-electric vehicles in Europe. The companies have signed a letter of intent and begun negotiations to establish a 50:50 joint venture, which is likely to be concluded in the first half of 2011.

Mahindra Great Escape Concludes in Panvel

The 59th edition of the Mahindra Great Escape concluded  in Panvel, near Mumbai. There were over 70 vehicles from the Mahindra stable manoeuvring the challenging route. Mahindra customers from Mumbai and neighbouring areas participated in the rally. The offroading enthusiasts had a field day as they negotiated an arduous, undulating route of over 60 km to reach the finish point.
