Mercedes-Benz India sold 640 units in the month of January 2011. The key growth drivers in January 2011 were the C–Class with 265 units, E-Class with 252 units, the S-Class with 46 units as well as the SUV range comprising the M-Class, GL-Class and the R-Class with 67 units. The German company has always been a favourite among Indians and it shows with the amount of cars the manufacturer sells each month.

Mercedes-Benz India today inaugurated the first state-of-the-art authorized service center for Buses in Northern India- PMG Automobiles Pvt. Ltd near Chandigarh. The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Devdutta Chandavarkar, Director, After Sales, Mercedes-Benz India and Mr. Mohit Pratap Singh, Principal owner, PMG Automobiles Private Ltd.

Mercedes-Benz India announced the roll-out of the ‘Star Fascination Fest 2010’ in Mumbai. This event saw the unveiling of the distinctive 'Inspired by Mercedes' collection by the ace designer Manish Arora. Debashis Mitra, Director Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India Pvt Ltd. said, "Mercedes-showrooms have been designed with the whole family in mind. Mercedes-Benz India today launched the new R-Class in Mumbai. The R-Class was launched in 2006 and now the facelifted version has been introduced for the first time in India. The R-Class will be available in the long wheelbase R350 4Matic. The all-wheel drive MPV will boast of a 3498cc V6 petrol engine and will generate 272 bhp. The car is priced at 58.79 Lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai)

Mercedes-Benz India announced the start of the 'Star Fascination Fest 2010' in Pune. This event saw the unveiling of the distinctive "Inspired by Mercedes" collection by the fashion designer Manish Arora. The new Fascination Line for Mercedes-Benz was a tribute to the brand’s style, sophistication and elegance. The ensemble would retail clothes and accessories from the new 'Inspired by Mercedes' collection. Priced between Rs 3,500 and Rs 5,000, these exclusive products designed by Manish Arora shall be retailed across Mercedes-Benz dealerships & Manish Arora outlets.

Mercedes-Benz India today announced the launch of the E-Class Cabriolet in India. The highly stylized avatar of the award winning E-Class comes with a retractable soft top roof and offers comfortable seating for four. The E-Class was the first automobile to roll out of the Indian plant back in 1995. Till date the E-Class has sold over 12,700 units and the new E-Class has already sold 1268 vehicles between January to July 2010.

Mercedes-Benz today announced its highest-ever-month of sales in its 15-year long history in India. The company sold a total of 521 units which is a growth of 80% over corresponding period previous year (288 units in July 2009). Heading the sales figures is the E-Class with 212 units. The SUVs too showed a significant rise in sales(the SUVs GL and M-Class sold 62 units in July 2010, almost half of the annual numbers of SUVs sold in 2009). The Jan-July 2010 numbers were also impressive with 2922 units and a growth of about 80% over 2009 (Jan-July 2009 - 1670 units).

Mercedes-Benz today launched its flagship super sports car for the Indian market: the SLS AMG. Speaking on the occassion, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, Mr. Ola Kaellenius, encapsulated his aspirations for the product, “Today India joins the elite ranks of the first few RHD markets globally to launch this mean machine. Given the strong demand for this car, I assure you that it is really a very strong and positive statement and shows the esteem that India as a market holds for us.”

Mercedes-Benz India announced its sales numbers for June 2010. The company notched-up 388 units in June 2010, an increase of 94% over June 2009.

Mercedes-Benz launched its global pre-owned car business for India: “Proven Exclusivity”. This program utilizes specific global benchmarks for vehicle evaluation, quality and warranty to offer Mercedes-Benz certified pre-owned cars to customers.
