VW India rolled out its first production Polo on Saturday. Present at the ceremony were The Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Ashok Chavan and Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, with responsibility of ‘Group Production’.

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced year-to-date growth at an impressive 59 percent (Jan-Nov 2009: 1,550 cars; Jan-Nov 2008: 974 cars). Audi India has continued to record strong growth all year around. In spite of the challenging market conditions, it has successfully managed to surpass the annual target of 1,500 cars.

Audi has launched the new A8 at Design Miami on 30th November 2009. The new A8 like the old A8 features the aluminum construction and quattro differential to power all wheels whenever required.

The Volkswagen Group in India with the three brands– Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen – delivered in total 2,023 vehicles to customers in October 2009 as compared to 1,464 cars sold in October 2008, up by 559 cars, taking the company’s growth to a record of 38.2 percent.

Audi India has announced its state-of-the-art service facility in Delhi that has the capability of repairing aluminum and steel. It is located at Mathura Road and is spread over 20,000 square feet.

Audi announced its best-ever sales of 205 cars for the month of September 2009, thereby registering an growth of 153 percent (81 cars in September 2008).

Audi announced the launch of the New Audi Q7. The new Audi Q7 is available in three engine options – 3.0 TDI quattro, 3.6 FSI quattro and 4.2 FSI quattro at Audi dealerships across the country from 3rd September 2009. The new Audi Q7 range starts at (ex-showroom Mumbai) Rs 53,40,000 for the 3.0 TDI quattro, Rs 55,20,000 for the 3.6 FSI quattro and € 42,696 (Rs 29 lakh approximately excluding the duties and taxes) for the 4.2 FSI Quattro. The 4.2 FSI Quattro should cost about Rs 65-70 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai without any accessories).

Volkswagen Group has launched its first Logistics Service Facility which is provided by Skoda Auto India Private Limited at its Aurangabad plant. On the basis of a facility for Skoda spare parts the expansion to a Volkswagen Group facility for the brands Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen has been conceptualized and set up in a record period of 4 months. The total investment of this expansion is of over Rs. 13.6 Crores (2 Million Euros).

Audi India announced the best-ever record sales of 204 cars in June 2009 - a growth of 165 per cent in comparison to June 2008 (77 cars). Audi India has shown consistent growth over the last six months and recorded impressive sales of 821 cars for the first half of the year 2009, a growth of 75 per cent compared to the sales registered during the corresponding period last year (470 cars).
