Audi India has been on a launching spree this year and the German manufacturer had commenced the assembly of the new A6 in June at its Aurangabad facility. So today, the company launched the new A6 with prices starting at Rs 37.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Audi has begun the start of production of the new Audi A6 in India in their Aurangabad facility.

Last week the May sales figures showed that the car sales have slowed down due to the revised interest rates. This week however, the automotive manufacturers are preparing for their future launches.

Audi India, this week commenced the assembly of its forthcoming model – the new A6. Mercedes-Benz became the first auto maker to launch a mobile website. Ford had organised a media drive for the new Fiesta, where we drove the car as well.

Audi has announced the start of production of the all new Audi A6 in India in Aurangabad. More than 2,000 units of the next generation Audi A6 will run off the production line every year, in the initial years, at the Group’s Aurangabad facility. The official start of production was announced in the presence of Kurt Romeiss, Senior Manager Quality, Audi A6, Jürgen Krieger, Senior Manager PreSeries Center, Audi Neckarsulm and Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India. 

Audi delivered 1611 cars in India between January to March 2011. Sales for the first quarter exceeded 50% of the total number of cars sold last year. Sales figures for the month of March 2011 alone stood at 681 cars with a growth of 210%.

Audi India continued its sales growth in India with sales of 450 cars in February 2011 thereby crossing their earlier mark and registering a 79 %growth. The company has already launched two cars in the beginning of this quarter - the Audi R8 V10 and its flagship model, the A8L.

The Volkswagen Group comprising of the three brands- Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen achieved an extraordinary growth in deliveries to customers of 131.9% in the period January to September 2010. The three brands together delivered a total of 32,359 vehicles to customers in the first nine months of 2010 as compared to 13,956 cars sold from January to September 2009.

Audi, announced the opening of its new showroom in Mumbai. The Audi Mumbai West showroom was inaugurated by Andre Konsbruck, Executive Director Region Overseas, AUDI AG, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India and Anand Rao, Managing Director, Audi Mumbai West. Also present on the occasion was leading actor, Bipasha Basu- owner of the Audi Q7.

Audi sold 1876 cars from January – August 2010 and has surpassed its last year’s annual sales of 1658 cars sold. The company has recorded a growth of 66 % over the same period in 2009 which was 1128 units. Audi India recorded sales of 250 cars in August 2010, a 46 % growth over August 2009 sales of 171 units.

Audi has started assembly of the Q5 model in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. In the future, up to 1,500 units of the Q5 will run off the assembly line there each year for the Indian market.
