• Audi has launched the new A4, with a starting price of Rs 27.33 lakh, ex-showroom, Maharashtra. It will be available with three engine options, of which two are diesel.

The lower front air intakes on the Ultimate are reshaped and chrome finished, while the 20-inch Maroa forged alloy wheels are unique to this model and feature a dual-tone colour scheme. Another visual differentiator is the discreet metal ‘Ultimate’ badge underneath the ‘XJ’ nameplate. 

On the inside for the rear thrones, a table rises up from the centre console at the touch of a button to provide a working area, its role is supplemented by the provision of two third-generation iPads with wireless keyboards that are housed in bespoke leather-trimmed docks in the rear of the front seats.

Jaguar has confirmed that it will bring the production version of the C-X16 Concept. The British marquee has christened the model as the F-Type. 

The F-Type will initially be launched as a convertible, and shall be a strict two-seater.The F-Type will join Jaguar's existing range of cars – the XF, XJ and XK. Complete F-Type technical and range details will be announced later in 2012 and as we predicted it will go on sale in mid 2013.A range of petrol engines will be available – including a new powerplant family – which could be the supercharged 3.0-litre we had mentioned.

The F-Type's will be built at the Castle Bromwich plant. The convertible will come in first, followed by the coupe in 2014. One feature that won't be carried from the C-X16 will be the side opening tailgate. To improve the practicality of the sportscar, Jaguar decided to stick with the convetnional boot.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, said: "A true sports car needs to be pure in both its purpose and its form; to have the opportunity to produce such a car for Jaguar has been a privilege both for myself and for my team. The C-type, D-type and E-type Jaguars were all sports cars that held true to this principle in their era, and the F-TYPE will hold true to that same principle in its time, a time that is soon to arrive."
