Nissan Micra facelift launched in India for Rs 4.79 lakh

Nissan has launched the new facelift Micra for a starting price of Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the entry-level Micra Active for an very competitive price of Rs 3.50 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi). The facelift version of the Micra also gets a top-end petrol CVT automatic variant priced at Rs 6.39 lakh.

The Micra now looks more aggressive with changes to the front, yet retains the basic design philosophy. The rounded edges have given way for straighter lines. The front grille now has a honeycomb design and features a Nissan logo surrounded a V-shaped trough. The front bumper is sculpted and houses the new fog lamps and redesigned air dams. The hatchback also gets LED tail lamps, redesigned rear bumper and new 15-inch alloy wheels.

Part from the standard colours the Micra facelift is available in two shades – Olive green and Turquoise Blue. The changes to the interiors include refreshed center console with silver inserts. The curvy round AC vents are replaced by rectangular ones and the plastics are better quality. The safety features for the top-end variant also includes ABS-EBD with Brake Assist and Reverse Camera.

The Nissan Micra Active carries the styling of the predecessor with minor changes to the front bumper. Although the features on this version are limited, Nissan will be offering 25 accessories as optional upgrades on this car and Micra facelift at dealer level. The Micra Active is available only with the petrol engine and has as an ARAI efficiency of 19.49kpl.

There are no changes to the oily bits of the facelift – the car is still powered by 1.2-litre petrol that produces 75PS and 104Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre oil burner that produces 65PS and 160Nm of torque. The automatic version gets the Xtronic CVT transmission, while rest of the variants get standard five-speed unit that power the front wheels.

With the Micra facelift and Micra Active, Nissan aims to compete in both the B and B+ segments comprising of cars ranging from the Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10 to the Maruti Swift and Volkswagen Polo. The entire Micra range is available comes with manufacturers' warranty of 2 years / 50,000kms.
