Ford’s global concept car to be their star attraction

The Auto Expo, as we know, plays host to some of the biggest launches and unveilings. It not only brings all the bigwigs of the industry under one roof, it also showcases striking concepts and near-production models which give a preview of what to expect in the near future. 

Ford India is geared up to put up a grand show in front of the crowd, with its all-new compact concept car. The brand has already released a teaser for the model in question, giving us all a glimpse of the design which seems to be in sync with the company’s global line-up. Going by the image, the concept hints at a rather dynamic design approach with its Aston Martin-esque grille and a sleek pair of headlamps.

What’s not certain at the moment is whether this new global concept will replace Ford India’s small car – the Figo, or it will be positioned around the latter here in the Indian market. Talking about the Figo, the car has been around for over three years now and despite its relatively old underpinnings, it is still putting up respectable sales numbers for the American carmaker. The upcoming compact car concept, then, will be seen playing a mighty big role in spearheading Ford India’s battle with the small car segment.    

It’s not all small and efficient for Ford India at the Expo as the company is likely to have something interesting for those with a thing for big, brawny SUVs. Ford, in fact, is expected to unveil the all-new Endeavour at the showroom floor. Also expect the rest of the current line up comprising of the Figo, the Fiesta, the Fiesta Classic and the EcoSport.
