2016 Toyota Innova spotted testing in Bangalore

The next-generation Toyota Innova has been spotted testing in India for the first time. Expected to go on sale in 2016, the new Innova will ditch its decade-old architecture to adopt the new TNGA platform, which is Toyota’s answer to other scalable platforms by manufacturers like Volkswagen and Honda. The car was spotted in Bangalore and was being tested alongside the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga as a benchmark vehicle.

Tata Motors has commenced the booking of its upcoming sub-4 metre sedan, the Zest,  by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. These bookings are however, limited to online only.  The payment can be done either through credit card or debit card.

Electric car owners may get subsidised vehicles

While the rest of the automotive world is progressing at a rapid pace with regards to electric vehicles and hybrids, India has been dragging its feet. What could be taken as a start towards a change is the news that the Delhi government is mulling offering a subsidy to car owners choosing to go electric. The move comes after the Centre offered a subsidy in this year's budget under the National Mission on Electric Mobility.

Locally manufactured 2014 Jaguar XJ launched in India for Rs 92.10 lakh

Earlier, Jaguar had announced the local manufacturing of the diesel variants of their flagship luxury sedan- the XJ. Now, the British manufacturer has launched two variants of the XJ which are locally manufactured at its production facility in Pune. The Premium Luxury version is priced at Rs 92.10 lakh while the Portfolio model costs Rs 98.69 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Mahindra Scorpio facelift caught testing again in torrential rains

It is raining cats and dogs in the Mumbai-Pune region but these torrential rains don’t seem to hamper Mahindra's plans of testing the facelifted Scorpio. In fact, the company seems to have taken up the treacherous weather as a ground for more exhaustive testing of the 2014 version of the Scorpio. Another test vehicle was snapped doing high speeds on the Mumbai-Pune expressway.

The car has been spotted again in Pune, this time with the camouflage carrying its name.It is a new strategy Tata's marketing team is following for the promotion of the car.
