Tata Motors has commenced the booking of its upcoming sub-4 metre sedan, the Zest, by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. These bookings are however, limited to online only. The payment can be done either through credit card or debit card.

While the rest of the automotive world is progressing at a rapid pace with regards to electric vehicles and hybrids, India has been dragging its feet. What could be taken as a start towards a change is the news that the Delhi government is mulling offering a subsidy to car owners choosing to go electric. The move comes after the Centre offered a subsidy in this year's budget under the National Mission on Electric Mobility.
Earlier, Jaguar had announced the local manufacturing of the diesel variants of their flagship luxury sedan- the XJ. Now, the British manufacturer has launched two variants of the XJ which are locally manufactured at its production facility in Pune. The Premium Luxury version is priced at Rs 92.10 lakh while the Portfolio model costs Rs 98.69 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Earlier this week, a prototype of Tata’s upcoming compact hatchback was spotted testing alongside the Tata Nano automatic. Rumoured to be christened ‘Kite’, the new hatchback will help Tata cover a wider range of audience by slotting in between the Bolt and the Nano. A new batch of spy shots of the car has now emerged, which were taken near the Pune-based manufacturer’s facility near Chakan.
It’s the season of special edition versions in the entry-level premium car market and BMW India is the latest automaker to introduce a limited edition model for the Indian customers. The company has reportedly launched the limited-run 1 Series M Performance Edition. Based on the regular 1 Series hatchback, production for this new version is limited to just 111 units.
