Honda plans to sell 3 lakh cars in FY 2016-17

On a roll after its recent spate of launches, Honda Cars India (HCIL) is targeting a sales number of three lakh in the financial year 2016-17. This estimated sales figure is more than twice the numbers they did in 2013-14 wherein they sold 1,34,000 units. Also, starting this fiscal, until October the company has already sold about one lakh units.

Government may extend the excise duty cut beyond December 31

The Finance Ministry has been discussing internally, the extension of the excise duty cut for cars beyond December 31. Earlier, the decision was taken when  the automobile industry was still struggling  with slow demand due to high interest rates. However, the government is yet to announce this extension officially.

Maruti Suzuki's WagonR Xrest spotted undisguised

It was at the Auto Expo at the start of this year when Maruti Suzuki showcased a modified version of the WagonR and christened it as the Xrest edition. Amongst many other such modified cars from the manufacturer, it wasn't announced which of the concepts would actually make it to the production line. However, the Xrest has been spotted without any camouflage hinting that it might be launched soon.

Fiat 500X crossover to be launched in the US next year

After making its world debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Fiat 500X recently arrived in the UK with prices starting at £14,595 (Rs 14.11 lakh). Now, the crossover is set for its US debut as Fiat is believed to have introduced the vehicle to American buyers with prices starting from $20,000 (Rs 12.37 lakh).

Korean utility vehicle maker SsangYong has announced the arrival of its new B-segment crossover, the Tivoli. Under development for the past three years and seen in concept form at recent international motor shows with the project name X100, the new Tivoli will be launched in Korea in January next year.

BMW M3 launched in India at Rs 1.19 crore

The BMW M3 has been launched in India at Rs 1.19 crore (ex-showroom India). First showcased at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in January, the four-door performance saloon has been launched in the Indian market along with its two-door sibling, the BMW M4, which will retail at Rs 1.21 crore.

BMW M4 Coupe launched in India at Rs 1.21 crore

After silently launching the M5 two days ago, BMW India has launched the M4 Coupe for the Indian market at Rs 1.21 crore (ex-showroom India). Based on the 3 Series sedan, the M4 will join the rest of the M Division performance cars M5, M6 and the M3, which was also launched today at Rs 1.19 crore (ex-showroom India).
