VW CaravelleErase all thoughts of the boring minvans you've seen on sale so far in India - VW is planning on entering the market with two of its minivan models, and they'll be targeting the business class. Diesel variants of the Caravelle and Crafter will be launched by the end of the year, according to Mr. Kurt Rippolz, Head of Communication, India.

The Caravelle is a 6-9 seater people mover that has a table inside around which meetings can be held. The vehicle can also be equipped with internet connectivity, a fax machine and a television. The Crafter will target small and medium enterprises with its multi-utility: the 3.5 tonne variant can be converted to a goods carrier from a 15-seater. The prices of the vans haven't been announced, but they won't be cheap as VW plans to import them as CBUs.
