The new Maini Reva, the REVAi, was launched in New Delhi on Wednesday, the 25th of June. The government has shown its support towards cleaner cars by offering a 15 percent subsidy on the car's base price, 12.5 percent exemption of VAT and a refund of road tax and registration charges.

The discounts bring the REVAi's original price of Rs 4.25 lakh to Rs 2.99 lakh for the base model. Reva motors plans to increase the production of electric cars in the near future, since it will be launched in many more Indian cities.
