General Motors is all set to launch the electric version of its small car 'Spark' in the Indian market by the end of this year.

The electric version of the small car will be the first in this segment but with a price tag slightly higher than the regular version because of the higher cost of the engine incurred.

Officials said that even though the price is higher, the operating costs of the car will be very low making it a viable buy.

This year the company is also expected to enter the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment.
