Luxury cars like the BMWs, the Mercs, the Honda CR-V and other luxury imported car models will be imported once the order is placed. The fluctuating currency and unstable world markets being the reason for switching to this decision.

Honda’s CR-V, Toyota’s Camry, Prado and Land Cruiser; BMW’s 7-series and many other premium car models have a waiting period of almost 3 months. Honda hasn’t sold a single CR-V in the past three months (viz April, May and June) and the company states, it will import against the orders it will receive.

Most of the manufacturers have suffered from losses by importing the car in advance and now they want to play it safe. Each of these cars cost between the range of Rs 20lakh to Rs 1-2crore. The Mercedes M Class and the SL Class and General Motors' Captiva all will be imported against orders.
