Maruti Suzuki Swift special edition to be launched soon

Maruti Suzuki has hinted at the launch of a special edition of the Swift through a promotional activity. The upcoming version of the hatchback is expected to get some cosmetic changes to liven up the looks of the ageing car.

As of now, Maruti Suzuki has not revealed any details of the external appearance or the features in the car. Currently, the carmaker is doing promotions to build up the hype. In this regard, they are also asking people via twitter to suggest a name for this special edition.

We don't expect any mechanical changes to be brought in the upcoming Swift special edition. It will continue to be powered by the 85bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 74bhp 1.3-litre Multijet diesel mill. Both the engine options come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The current Swift is long in the tooth and the automaker is doing everything to keep up the sales before finally bringing in the next-gen model. The social media activities will bring in the much-needed buzz before the launch of the special edition. We can expect the limited edition to be priced slightly higher than the current model when they introduce it soon for the Indian market.
