The French autogiant Renault has put all its Indian plans of launching new cars from its Chennai plant. Initially the company had planned to launch its few models by 2010 and 2011.

The French government had funded Renault and the Citroen with cash worth 3 billion euros to avoid the job cuts. Renault will continue with its investments plans only once it sees an improvement in the current car market.
