Honda has introduced the facelifted version of the Accord in Thailand, with cosmetic changes to both the exterior and interior, in line with the model in the US. This facelifted Accord will be launched in India later this year.
The new Accord gets a revised grille, new LED headlamps with DRLs, new shape LED tail lamps. The overall design however is almost the same. Inside, there is a new 7.7-inch touchscreen system that has Apple CarPlay and wifi hotspot connectivity. The dashboard and door panels now get new black and faux wood trim.
In Thailand, the car is offered with two engine options – the 2.0-litre petrol and the 2.4-litre petrol, both powering the front wheels and delivering 150bhp and 172bhp respectively through torque convertor automatic transmission. For India, however, the 2.0-litre engine will be coupled with an electric motor, as a hybrid unit.
Honda showcased the prefacelift model in India at the Auto Expo 2016, alongside the BR-V. The premium sedan will be brought to India as a CBU to compete with the Toyota Camry.
