Mitsubishi Motors in Thailand has just launched the updated Attrage budget saloon with new safety features and have tweaked the motor for improved fuel efficiency.
Mitsubishi has added that the new Attrage now conforms with Thailand’s Eco-Car 2 programme and is expected to deliver a fuel economy of 23.3kpl and CO2 emission of 99g/km. The Japanese car maker didn’t reveal what tweaks were made to the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine as the previous Attrage managed 22.2kpl.
Also, for the first time in its segment, the Attrage now comes equipped with a safety system that can alert the driver of any probable low speed forward collisions. There’s also a radar-based system that can cut engine power when the driver mistakenly accelerates into other objects, such as during reversing. These two segment leading safety features are available in the top-end GLS versions. That said, it needs to be noted that all four versions get traction and stability control, hill start and brake assist and dual frontal airbags as standard.
