Hyundai aims for 16.7 per cent growth this fiscal

Hyundai has its sights set on selling 4.84 lakh units this year and accordingly achieve a growth of 16.7 per cent as compared to its performance in the previous year. This growth is expected to be driven by models like the Elite i20 and the Grand i10 which sold 10,841 and 8,970 units in June 2015.
The Creta is expected to contribute to this number significantly as Hyundai aims to sell around 4,000-5,000 units of the compact SUV every month. These large numbers means its Chennai plant will be working overtime to keep up with the demand possibly increasing waiting periods significantly.
In this regard, it is waiting for the Centre to implement GST and provide clarification on the land acquisition bill before it begins scouting for a new location for its second plant in the sub-continent.
