Suzuki Alto 800, Alto K10 and Celerio launched in Algeria

The India-made Alto 800, Alto K10 and Celerio hatchbacks have been launched in Algeria. The cars have been priced at 880,000 Algerian Dinars (Rs 5.70 lakh), the Alto K10 at 980,000 AD (Rs 6.34 lakh), and the Celerio at 1.141 million AD (Rs 7.39 lakh) respectively and are being brought into the Algerian market via the CBU route.

The Algerian spec cars are exactly the same in terms of exterior design as compared to their Indian counterparts. On the interior front, the Alto 800 gets the interior design from the Alto K10 while latter gets a beige and black two-tone combo to differentiate it from its smaller sibling. In terms of features, the Algerian spec cars get ABS as standard while passenger side airbag is an optional extra across all three models.

The Alto 800 is power by an 796cc three-cylinder petrol mill that produces 48bhp/69Nm. The Alto K10 and Celerio get a 1.0-litre three-cylinder mill that produces 67bhp/90Nm. All engines are offered with a five-speed manual while the Celerio also gets the option of the AMT gearbox. Africa is the latest export destination for Maruti Suzuki and depending on the market, gets CKD or CBU products. This also reveals that Maruti Suzuki will upgrade the interior of the Alto 800 for the Indian market.
