Mercedes-Benz could introduce the GLC crossover in June

The Mercedes-Benz GLK is soon to become history as it is set to be replaced with an all-new model by the end of 2015. As a part of Mercedes’ new naming structure, the next-generation of the GLK will be renamed GLC when it arrives later this year. 

According to a report by Mercedes Benz Passion Blog, the GLC is expected to make its global debut in June this year. It is based on the latest generation C-Class and as a result, the former will share most of the underpinnings with the new C. Interestingly, the GLC will also be available in right-hand drive configuration, meaning it will be sold in markets including the UK and a few Asian markets. Being made available with left-hand drive only, the existing GLK never made it to the above mentioned markets.

Looking at the spy pictures from the past, the GLC seems like it is considerably longer and wider than the GLK, meaning it will benefit from improved cabin space and overall comfort. The GLC is expected to be revealed by June and will go on sale soon after, in America and Europe. The availability of a right-hand drive configuration means that Mercedes-Benz India, too, will be able to sell this vehicle in India to compete with the likes of BMW X3 and Audi Q5.
