American car building firm unveils classic Ford Mustang replica with modern underpinnings

An American car building firm, Revology Cars, has unveiled an original replica of the first-generation Ford Mustang. It looks like the first Pony car that was launched in 1964 but has been fitted modern underpinnings and interior.
Dubbed a ‘postmodern interpretation’ by the company’s founder Tom Scarpello, it looks 100 per cent like the original car from the outside and has been fitted with everything from that period right down to the five-spoke steel wheels. The body design has been created by a firm called Dyancorn and most importantly licensed by Ford themselves making this car the closest thing to buying a restored classic Mustang.

While the external design has been kept in the original state, Revology have fitted the car with a modern, fuel-injected, thumping 5.0-litre V8 engine which by our guesses will be pumping out around 550bhp. The engine can be mated to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic.  It also gets three-link rear suspension, Macpherson struts in front as well as disc brakes on all four wheels.
The interior has been designed in the classic form but now gets all modern features central locking, power seats, infotainment system, AC and remote keyless entry. In the company’s terms, they have tried to keep the modern amenities minimally intrusive so as not to disturb the classic design.

This Mustang replica is a fine example of the passion and innovation that has driven the American car culture for well over 90 years now. It has been priced at 119, 500 USD (Rs 75 lakh) which seems like a price worthy of the effort and thought that has gone into making this car.
