Following months of leaks, speculations and spy shots, the Fiat Avventura is finally ready to hit the Indian roads. The hatchback-based crossover is expected to be launched early next month, during the festive season. And while are at it, here’s another leaked piece of information on this highly awaited model.
If the report is to be believed, the petrol-powered Avventura will be available only with base and top-spec variants – Active and Emotion. It won’t be available in the mid-spec Dynamic variant. Earlier it was been said that the petrol model will only be available in base and mid-range variants.
Irrespective of the variant and engine option, the new Avventura will come with 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, foldable rear seats, flip key, central locking, high terrain gauges, front power windows and tilt adjustable steering as standard across the range. The top-spec Emotion variant will get front airbags, ABS, front fog lamps, electric wing mirrors, height adjustable seat belts, ambient lighting, climate control, rear AC vents, leather wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, Blue & Me in-car connectivity with voice control and much more.
The Avventura has been in the news for a long time and now. The car has already been spotted at Fiat dealerships during the dealer training program, which means that the launch is not too far away.
The vehicle is based on the same platform which also underpins the Punto hatchback. However, the former gets rugged design bits like bash plates, plastic cladding and roof rails to make it look like a mini off-roader. The engine line-up for the Avventura will be carried over from the Punto Evo. The car will be available with two petrol engines and a diesel engine, with the latter being available in two states of tune.
While the compact crossover segment has witnessed a lot of action in the current scenario, the hatchback-based crossover segment is nearly non-existent. Despite this, Fiat India is betting big on the boldly designed Avventura. The brand is hoping for this new vehicle to attract a new breed of buyers looking for a rugged looking vehicle but with all the practicality of a compact hatchback. When launched early next month, the Avventura will take on existing hatchback-based crossovers including the Volkswagen Cross Polo and the Toyota Etios Cross.
