Honda may launch the Freed at the 2014 Auto Expo

A week ago we wrote about Honda bringing in the Freed MPV in India, today a tweet by 2014 Auto Expo’s official twitter account claims 'the Freed will be shown at the Auto Expo 2014'.

Honda seems to be upbeat about launching more products, despite the gloomy outlook of the Indian automobile industry. The new cars couldn’t have come at a better time than now and at the best platform to showcase or launch new products in India. Honda’s three stage assault on its competitors might pay off well. The Mobilio, Jazz and the Freed will be under one roof at Honda’s stall at the Auto Expo in New Delhi.

The Freed will be marketed as an upmarket MPV and will compete with the segment leader-the ubiquitous Innova. The Freed may get the 2.2-litre diesel engine which might be de-tuned for our market. Honda will also unveil the Mobilio and the Jazz at the expo and the Freed will add more muscle to its already exciting expo line-up.
