The Race of Champions was held on 14th December, 2008. Like every year, the event was a grand success. It was great to watch the best drivers racing head-to-head in the same machinery.

With seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, eight-time Le Mans winner Kristensen, and drivers like Sebastian Loeb, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and David Coulthard participating, the event had to be exciting. Like 2007, the event was held at Wembley Stadium in London.

In the ROC Nations Cup, Germany secured its position in the semi finals with both Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel both winning the opening races for Germany. In the final race of ROC Nations Cup, Germany won the title second time in a row, with the combination of Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel who raced and won last year as well.

In the Race of Champions, frenchman Sebastian Loeb won the title “The Champion of the Champions” for the third time. The five-time World Rally Champion had to compete with the Scottish David Coulthard, who just retired from Formula 1 this year. David was caught smiling after the race in which he finished second. Lewis Hamilton was supposed to race against Olympic star Chris Hoy on his racing bike, but the event was called off due to the slippery track.
