Ford EcoSport may be launched on June 11

Ford may launch its highly anticipated EcoSport crossover for the Indian market on June 11 according to a report from Autojunction.  We know everything about the vehicle and have already driven it but are now waiting for Ford to give us a launch date and obviously the price.

The EcoSport was first previewed by the American automaker during the 2012 Auto Expo. Then, after many months of spy shots, bits and pieces of information about engine and underpinnings, Ford unveiled then India-spec production version during a country wide media event two months ago.

The EcoSport will be exported from the Chennai facility to over 32 countries and Ford plans to use this as leverage to price the crossover competitively for the Indian market. The EcoSport will be priced in the range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 12.5 lakh for the top-of-the-line diesel Titanium variant. It will compete with the Mahindra Quanto, Renault Duster and will also work as an option to midsize sedans.
