Facelifted BMW M5 officially revealed

BMW has unveiled the facelifted M5 sedan during a special event held before the 24 hours of Nurburgring race. The car features mostly cosmetic changes both on the inside and outside but mechanically remains unchanged.

Changes to the facelifted M5 on the outside include new adaptive LED headlights, redesigned kidney grille which now features vertical black slats as well as an M badge in it. The car is now being offered with special two-tone seven spoke 20-inch alloy wheels as well carbon ceramic brakes. The updates to the interior are also derived from the M6. The steering is sleeker and it gets touch sensitive iDrive controller.

The facelifted M5 will continue to be powered by the same 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 mill that produces 560PS and 680Nm of torque. The German automaker is now offering the Competition Pack for the M5 that includes a stiffer suspension, stiffer roll bars, and sports exhaust package as well modifications to the steering to make the responses 10 per cent faster. The package also includes engines tweaks that now take the power from 560PS to 577PS. This pack is also being offered with the M6 and M6 Gran Coupe.

We expect that BMW will start offering the facelifted M5 in India a few months after it is officially launched in Europe.
