Skoda Superb facelifted spied

We recently brought you spy pictures of a revised front fasica of the Skoda Superb and now a Czech automotive website has posted what we believe is the facelift of Czech automakers flagship model. The car is expected to just get some minor changes and is expected to be the last facelift for the Superb before an all-new generation model is launched.

The most obvious change is the front fasica, which gets a completely new design in the form a revised air-dam, fog lamps and a honeycomb grille with chrome inserts. The final production model is also expected to get LED treatment for the front and back lights.

The facelifted Superb will be the second vehicle to sport the Czech automakers new logo that debuted on the recently launched 2013 Skoda Octavia.  The interiors are not expected to change much save for a few upgrades that debuted with the Octavia.

The European engine line up will get a new addition in the form of a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel mill which will produce 170bhp and 350Nm of torque.  Power is will transmitted to the wheels via six-speed dual clutch gearbox and a four-wheel drive system.  However, this engine is unlikely to make an Indian debut anytime soon.  Skoda is also expected to include a start-stop system to increase fuel efficiency.

We can expect that Skoda will bring the facelifted Superb in India a few months after its global launch. In the petrol market the Superb competes with cars like the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata as well as the Toyota Camary but in the diesel segment it is pretty much unrivalled except for the Volkswagen Passat, which is the same car underneath but with a larger price tag.
