Hi Guys,

I think this may sound out of syllabus...

What is the best among the two.... Hyundai Accent GLE or Ford Ikon 1.3 Flair?

What are the main differences among the two..?

My dad says that instead of a hatchback...we can go for a Sedan like Accent which is almost similarly priced with Swift....

Even Deepam earlier suggested me that I can opt for Accent....

Need your valuable inputs regarding these two sedans....

Regards,

Sai

Hello Experts,

I guess nobody is interested in commenting on Accent or Ford Ikon.

Pankaj ji, Deepam, Rajiv.. what happened...?

Please post your valuable inputs on these two cars as well...

Regards,

Sai

hello sai,

accent would be a better buy as it is big, spacious, rides well, has good boot & is not high on maintainance also. accent is the best buy.

& yes at the price of a hatchback u get a bigger car.

so i would suggest u accent once again.

Hi Sai,

I will suggest you Ford Ikon Flair, first of all I like the looks of Ikon from front and behind (Subjective though). Generates good enough Power and fun to drive. Interiors are good and more importantly Mileage in bad city driving 10.5 to 11kmpl with a.c. (I am from lucknow, old city.. narrow roads). Mileage of accent in our city is around 9kmpl, so Flair is having edge over accent in mileage.

If you drive Swift VXi and then Ikon Flair, there is not much difference, Ikon is good to drive, but if you are tall, check out whether you are comfortable in Ikon Flair or not.

Pricewise Ikon Flair is good. My partner Devesh (Pics in my photo section) is Ikon Flair since nov. 07... diamond white and till date the performance is good. Another point I would like to mention... Ikon Flair is one of the safest car without additional safety features like Airbags & ABS. Solid body and good use of solid iron for safety.

In my case and according to me , both Aceent and ikon is having a poor resale value , and if i were in your position i wudnot have bought these dated cars , instaed i would have a payed a lakh more or the same price and go for a Used 1 - 2 years old Honda city ZX or the FOrd Fiesta used car! and in new car i would have opted for the Indica Vista Quadrajet Aqua  , Indigo CS LS , Dzire or the Hyundai i10 1.2 Magna!

You are right Sri, but Sai asked about these 2 cars, and to be very frank, I'll prefer a Sedan over Hatch anyday! and if budget is not much... one can consider these 2 cars. A new car is always better than a used one!

Thanks friends....
I agree Sedan is on any day better than a Hatchback.
I  will take a test drive of both these cars.
Personally, i like the looks of Ikon Flair, specially the Panther black colour.
I was never thinking of buying Sedans, but my dad suggested we opt for these. He personally likes Accent. I told him that these cars are dated ones and nobody is buying them these days. Also, these are base models and need some extra refining. But he insisted to have a look at these.
I am not worried much about the resale value as i have plans of keeping it for 5 years. But my only concern is, 5 years down the lane, iam sure these cars will be pulled out by the Companies, will there be any effect on service and spare parts?

Hey , then if you are fine with these dated cars its ok , i feel you shdu go with the accent , as hyundai cars are cheap to maitain and Also the spares of Ikon are on he higher side , at the same time i also suggest you to have a look at the Indigo CS diesel LS TDi!
