Hello

I am one among those who are eagerly waiting for the New Ikon Diesel.
As with most people I also attach importance to the look of My Car. (As the saying goes - 'Car, Mobile and Wife, reflects the character of the person - order shuffled to suit the forum! Hi)
Could you suggest the accessories and modifications that will enhance the look of the new Ikon?
My car is 'Morello' color - something between black,Red and brown. Fiesta has that color.
For the interior I plan to use seat covers.
Thanks
Roy Thomas

Roy,

I am not listing the basic accessories here, apart from that you may look at
simple rear spoiler(preferably with brake lights).
skirts
alloys
stickers(I dont like it much though)
neon lights
gear knob
steering knob
The list goes on and on

Regarding seat covers a good set would cost you 4k +.
Emperor has good collection, my friend had it recently done from there for his santro. You can look at some samples here and here.

Neon lights are lights given below the car. You might have seen them on road.
There are various options like colour, pulsing ones etc etc.
It is illegal in India, though it is widely available.
Here is a sample:

Skirts are attachments that you give on you sides,  front bumper and rear bumpers. Dont get skirts that are almost close to ground. This is because of our kerala roads.

These pics would give you a general idea.

You may look at this link to see modded cars done in our god's own country.

Thanks. Good.
How much the neon costs? Can use occasionally. I have seen them on Road. Good looks. may not look apt in certain groups . Still useful sometimes.

The skirts may be specific to each vehicle. is it?  If so for the New Ikon it may not be available now as it is new. I think it will be good for Ikon (to give a more flat look). But it will be a problem while  crossing Humps in rural areas.
what is the general costing of these?

I donno if neons has some use apart from looks. A good set would cost around 10k.

Skirts are not completely specific to cars. They are more related to the dimensions. There is a possibility that the skirts may not be available as of now for Ikon. It will be avalaible in the showroom as they will have it even if it is a new car. I have noticed this in case fiesta and other cars when it was launched.
The prices start from 10k for skirt sets. The main issue is not the humps rather it is the pond like potholes we have.  Scout around for this and then take it. Also the prices outside will be far lesser than that in the showroom.

You may also look at stuffs like
sport pedals
extra dials
angel lights
It is an endless lights.

Oh! 10K for neons  is not acceptable for me. So Plan canceled.
But skirts can be considered. But may have to wait as this is a new car.
what is angel light?

Thanks
Roy

Roy,
Good that you dropped neons. Venel oru periyar lottery dedicate cheytho. ;)

Regarding skirts, the kits will be widely available 1 month after the car launch. So that much wait would be enough.

This is are sample angel lights:

Another one done for swift:

Civic:

They are also widely seen in BMW's. The look gorgeous in the night.
For swift it would cost 15k.

Seat cover
Rear Guide
Suncontrol filims with front glass
audio System (budget 15-17K)
Stebel horn
Keyless Entry (Remote Lock)

are the current selections

Roy,

Just to point out in case you donno. The film used for all the other windows will be different than the one used on the front glass. The cost ratio will be 2:1.

All the others look fine. Add good floor mats as the free ones wont be good.
Make sure you dont remove the plastic till you put the seat covers.

BTW when is the car coming....

It would be advisable to put underbody anti rust coating and pvc flooring.

Roy: Very sorry, My friend just rectified me that the price of neon is starting from 3k. There are cheaper ones available for 2k.
