        Specifications

        • Engine & Transmission

          • Engine
2987 cc, 6 Cylinders In V Shape, DOHC

Timely services will keep a motor efficient and in top shape.

          • Engine Type
            V/6 7G-Tronic Plus

The official title given by the manufacturer in terms of the name of the engine, the displacement and the number of cylinders.

A bigger displacement and more than four-cylinders generally indicate a performance-oriented engine.

          • Fuel Type
            Diesel

All cars in India either run on petrol, diesel, CNG, LPG or electric power.

          • Max Power (bhp@rpm)
            258 bhp @ 3600 rpm

Gives a good idea of the performance of the vehicle under full thrust. A higher figure here usually means a higher top speed as well.

Higher the power, the peppier the engine but it can also affect fuel economy.

          • Max Torque (Nm@rpm)
            619 Nm @ 1600 rpm

Relates to in-gear acceleration. A higher figure here means better roll-on acceleration, fewer gear shifts, and possibly better fuel efficiency.

The more torque at low RPM range makes the engine feel more responsive. It also allows the engine to run smoothly without too many gear changes.

          • Drivetrain
            AWD

Cars come with different drivetrain configurations depending on the segment.

Front-wheel drive (FWD) is most common in mainstream cars while expensive cars or SUVs come with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

          • Transmission
Automatic - 7 Gears, Paddle Shift, Sport Mode

Type of transmission used to transfer power from the engine to the wheels

A manually operated transmission is the most popular type, thanks to its simplicity and low cost. Varied types of automatic transmissions are also available.

          • Turbocharger / Supercharger
            Turbocharged

Manufacturers today offer turbochargers to boost engine power without affecting its fuel economy. Superchargers are found in more expensive cars but on the downside, they are not very efficient.

Turbochargers are more effective but require plenty of heat management. Superchargers, meanwhile, offer linear bump in power but they are comparatively more complex.

          • Others
            Idle Start/Stop
        • Dimensions & Weight

          • Length
            5120 mm

The length of the car decides its segment. In India, cars that are less than 4 metres in length enjoy reduced excise duties.

            Length
            • Length: 5120

Longer length results in more cabin space. It also adds to straight line stability.

          • Width
            1934 mm

A car's width is defined as its widest point without its mirrors.

            Width
            • Width: 1934

Although more width gives you more lateral space inside the cabin, it makes the car more difficult to park in narrow spots.

          • Height
            1850 mm

The height of the car denotes the highest point of the vehicle from the ground.

            Height
            • Height: 1850

Taller the car, the more headroom there is on offer inside the cabin. However, a tall boy stance also affect the car’s centre of gravity which can cause more body roll.

          • Wheelbase
            3075 mm

The space between the center of the front and rear wheels.

            Wheelbase
            • Wheelbase: 3075

The longer the wheelbase, the more space there is inside the cabin.

          • Kerb Weight
            2175 kg

The total weight of the vehicle with all the standard equipment and all the required fluids.

A lightweight car will always be more efficient and easier to manoeuvre whereas a heavy car would give you a sense of solidity while driving.

            Seating Capacity
            • Seating Capacity: 7
          • No of Rows
            3 Rows

Smaller cars usually have two rows which can seat five, but some SUVs and MPVs have three rows and can seat around 7-8 passengers.

          • Bootspace
            680 litres

Boot space defines how practical the car is with respect to how much luggage it can carry.

            Bootspace
            • Bootspace: 680

A boot with a large and wide opening is ideal for loading heavy items. Additionally, a lower loading height also makes it easy to put in luggage.

          • Fuel Tank Capacity
            100 litres

The official volume of the fuel tank of a car, usually denoted in litres.

          • Wheels
            Alloy Wheels

The wheels used on cars are either steel rims with plastic wheel cover hub or alloy wheels on higher spec models or expensive cars.

Razor cut, or diamond cut alloy wheel design are not getting more popular. Manufacturers usually offer these in top-end trim of their car models.

          • Spare Wheel
            Alloy

        • The Only Car you may ever need
Exterior Grabs a lot of attention at Hotels,Malls due to its electrically operated boot. The big Mercedes logo and the detailing in the headlights remind everyone that this is a special car.  Most importantly Due to its size it has immense presence and makes sure that everyone will notice it. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front seats are fully electric with memory function, the front seat belts adjust electrically once you put them on, the steering height adjust is electrically operated, you get a cooled glovebox and it goes on.... The media system has navigation, DVD playback, AM/FM, Fuel Economy display, 360 degree Helicopter view camera, Bluetooth, Voice control, and an off road mode which shows the altitude, compass direction and steering degree. At the middle row you have more than enough headroom and legroom, You also get 3-zone climate control in the car so the rear passengers can set their own temperature, also there are a total of 16 air vents in the car including the foot ones!!! 6 are for the front passengers, 8 for the middle row, and 2 for the last row!! The middle row seats fold and tumble down in a 60:40 split for convinience. The third row seats have a cupholder each and an 2 A/C vents on the roof! The also fold down electrically to form a flat boot space and also come up elctrically, so all you have to do is simply press a button! Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very impressive! For a car that is over 2 tonnes you reach 100kmph in under 8 seconds! Also the engine never feels stressed and all you hear when you press down hard on the accelerator is a little purr, it feels as refined as a petrol car! Fuel economy is not to bad for a car of this size. You get around 9 kmpl and with the GL's 100 litre boot it has a total range of 850-900 kms, which is very impressive. The gearbox is smooth and refined and never feels out of place.  Ride Quality & Handling The GL has an AIRMATIC air suspension which levels out automatically on a road. It is very good in absorbing potholes and road irregularities and comes with two modes, Comfort and Sport. It also gets suspension lift mode and an off road button so the car can be more comfortable to drive off road. Comfort mode is the best for indian roads but it can make the car roll around corners, Sport is better suited for smooth winding roads as it reduces the body roll considerably but makes the ride a lot stiffer. Final Words It is certainly a very impressive car with off-road capibility, quality interiors, and a feature list that stretches out for kilometers. Defenitely a car I would recommend you to buy. Areas of improvement Suspension only has two modes Comfort/Sport but the problem is Comfort makes the car roll a lot and Sport cuts out the bodyroll by making the ride very hard. If there was something in between sport and comfort this car would heve the best ride quality.Engine is smooth and very powerful, Chrome detailing, Overload of Air Conditioning Vents:Total of 16Rolls a bit around corners
