NEW DELHI: Thirteen Indian technology firms have been named among the top 100 in the Asia-Pacific region by global media company Red Herring, even as China dominates with 37 names.
The '2007 Red Herring 100 Asia' awards recognise private companies with cutting edge technologies in the
Asia-Pacific region. The winners have been selected from 200 finalists, including 43 Indian companies, on the basis
of criteria varying from vision and technological achievements to market leadership and financial health.

Red Herring magazine had announced the 100 Award winners today at the Red Herring 100 Asia 2007 event. The winners are selected from the 200 finalists that were announced about a month back. You could read my previous post about the same here.

The total annual transaction value of all car trading is pegged at Rs 85,000 crore and online auto portal

Speaking to Business Line on the potential of online car sales and the
company's plans, he said: "Around 13 lakh new cars were sold in 2006-07 and the
projected growth is at least 15 per cent this year. The used cars market is growing even
faster at 25 per cent annually."

In an interview with the Hindu, Mohit Dubey, founder CEO of Carwale, says that they've "helped more than 10,000 new car buyers to enter into a transaction".
More than 50,000 recommendations have been made using their car recommendation engine and 40% of the users who enter a purchase inquiry end up buying the car.
