Exterior Exterior is nice and has fresh look to the usual SUV hence can be found to be attractive and a head turner.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Loaded with features like DIS system which is very useful showing mileage, speed , directions, etc.also arm rest in front for both gives a good feel.

Space is good for front seats just like Xylo, dashboard can be counted in acres, rear seat comfort on other hand is not great, a 6` person seating in fornt can leave no leg room for rear passenger, rear seat are too hard & straight for longer drives & also do not recline due to baby rear most seats which are not for adults & can get clostrofobic in those side facing seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Pick up is awesome 1st gear can reach 40kms, 2gear 70kms, least turbo lag, very smooth acceleration & does not at all feel underpowered but then it needs to be checked for 7seating with ac on a up hill.

Gear shifting is very smooth & gives a positive feel. the torque is very good & u don`t need to shift down for overtaking even in 4th gear.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality what I found was  hard for  rear person can feel smallest humps on the road as the seats are given too much height,

Final Words A good innovation but lacks proper execution.

Areas of improvement REAR SEAT COMFORT.

Loaded features, pickup, front seat comfortMiddle seats too uncomfortable, bit of body roll

Dear Friends, I am an Unhappy Owner of Mahindra Quanto. The Car is Positioned in the Market as a Diesel Variant at about 7 -8 Lacs Segment and the Company Claims the Mileage is 17.7 km/ltr, You will be astonished that the Average in the City of My Qunato is as low as 10.5 km/ltr which is almost 6 Rs / Km. The Car with No Luxury and Priced at 7 Lacs with Diesel Segment Just makes No Sense at Such High Cost of Running, There are Much Better Cars Available in Petrol Segment which will run at Similar Cost. The AC Power is Extremely Low, I Must say that Either its a Complete Manufacturing Defect or I Advice Customers to be Careful before making a Choice, May be you will Regret Later. I have Connected to Mr. Mahindra post which the Service Center Responded and they have taken my Car for Test and Yesterday they Partly Acknowledged finally and I am still to get a Resolution. Incase they Respond that this is the Average that Quanto gives in the City then I plan to Move to Court for Misleading Buyesr with False Claims which is Not expected from a Company Like Mahindra. This is an Information I thought Need to be shared.

After following up with many showrooms, I finally got one showroom in Chennai to agree to a test drive on Quanto last Sunday. My needs were: I wanted a 5 or 6 + seater car, since I drive less, a petrol version is also ok. I DISLIKE interior plastics and rubber beadings that look like its a TATA car. Need the car to be spacious, and expect good service.. now now now.. all these cannot be gotten at the price of 5-6 lacs so I increased my budget to 8-9 lacs just to see what can be expected. Ertiga pertol mid version is available for about 8.01 lacs  on road and the diesel mid version costs about 10L on road. So I was pleasantly surprised to know that Quanto mid version -Diesel!! costs about 8.3lacs on road.

(I could not test drive the Ertiga yet, but have checked it out at a nearby showroom..The seating and spacing options are cleverly managed and with adjustments, its a nice buy especially with the famed Maruti customer service.. but people at Khiviraj motors at Adyar were just not very enthusiastic in selling this car or even talking to us about it..I may still check this car out with other showrooms this week.. will let you know the details after the test drive.)

Going back to my test drive with Quanto...

Exterior Good. If this was another 1/2 ft longer, the last row seats would not have looked ridiculous. Shrinking a Xylo was their only goal it seems. The spare tyre on the rear door of the Quanto was a nice touch.. if this can be done on the Xylo, it will instantly improve its looks.

I liked the external looks.. When I got into the drrivers seat, noticed the poor plastics and rubber immediately..for 8. X lacs, i expected decent material for interiors.. the window beadings(rubber) looked like my Tata Indigo..We took the car out for a spin with 4 adults and 1 child.. I did not feel it as spacious as Indigo.. but YES.. the vertical space was really good..I compared this car with Duster and an Ertigo on the road as we were driving and this was much taller than them. But I still feel Ertigo can take 5-6 people more comfortably than Quanto. Also Quanto does not have a central ac blower.. the tiny tots in the rear seats will have a hard time without AC :-)

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Noticed that this car definitely needs good thigh support for the driver. or you will quickly have fatigue..space in the second row was barely ok. The third row was a joke. its not for kids, but you can fit in 2 babies (not sure if its safe though ;-)). Good features such as auto stop while in traffic, auto start on depressing the clutch. displays for km, could have added mileage and distance to empty. had a small SUV (or was it Bolero?) feel. How could I forget the gear shaft. It was just like the Bolero or Gypsy type long stick. gear shifts may not be very precise. I did not like the gear shift stick in Quanto. The Middle row (2nd row) seat was barely functional. not adjustable, plain bench type..last row seats (2) can fit babies maybe..my kid will be very unhappy to sit there.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Salesman claimed 17km etc.. not sure.. this car performed better than the indigo with AC without the lag (if you know what I mean).

Ride Quality & Handling Does it have issues that Xylo has in terms of Stability when turning? I dont know as it seemed to be fine when i drove the short distance.

Final Words I liked this car, but even if it is for 5 people, the car must not seem cramped. In this case it seemed cramped. The advantage is the cost of Quanto compared to Ertiga diesel. I think I will go for another test drive with the Quanto. Maybe on the second round, I may notice more positives

Areas of improvement Sell this car as a 5 seater. In this case, its a good buy when you compare it with other diesel options at 8.3 lacs. If you cant improve the plastics, atleast improve the quality of the rubber beadings.

Good exterior looks, could be value for money if few options were addedPoor plastics, no thigh support for driver, 2nd row seat looks like a bench

Exterior It is necessarily a good looking car. It gives robust feel when you look at it. The rear door is very nicely crafted. The foot rests on the sides and oin the rear are very useful. The spare tyre sitting on the rear door makes it look longer than it really is and balances the look of this sub-four meter. The mirrors are big and give excellent rear view. The quality of paint is excellent and all the colors offered are very aristocratic. It is too big to be called as hatchback but if you think about the rear seats which can't be used for seating, It IS a hatchback.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front two seats are very comfortable. The version I drove had armrests for driver and co-driver seats. The arm-rests can be locked at different positions to arrive at most comfortable driving position. More than sufficient charging points (3), bottle holders (5). The power windows are smooth. The edge of window sits at slightly above waist level making the view very enjoyable. It won't obstruct the view even for a shorter person. Lot of headroom making it comfortable even for a taller person. The steering wheel is big and has great grip. The driver console is big bold and clear to read. The in-built sound system is of good quality and not run-of-the-mill kind. Rear seat is broad and can accomodate three food-lovers comfortably. I found gear level to be slightly oddly located and is way to longer by what we find in now-a-days' cars. There are no rear A/C vents. This surely will make thrid row seats stuffy. The good thing is third row side windows can be slightly opened (remember: Premier Padmini's triangular windows besides driver window and co-driver window!) for ventilation. Rear two seats are not very useful for adults. Only kids below age 10 can be seated over there. They also get stuffy as there's a tall backside of the rear seat on one side and rear door on the other. Calling this vehicle a seven seater is in-justice to all true seven seaters. Xylo itself is a very great 7-8 seater and this car is necessarily a mini-xylo. Looking at those seats I wondered that when you cut a 7 seater short by 53 cms how can you get another seven seater? There is no boot space. Your rear seats area doubles up as boot space. If actually 5 adults and two kids occupy this vehicle then the luggage has to go on the top. The rear seats provide great lumbar support but the bad part is they are not sufficiently reclining. They are slightly too upright for longer drives. Reverse assist system and driver assist systems are good and functionally useful.

Ingress and Egress may be slightly problematic for people with knee problems or for older people.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine looks great on the paper. The engine is really smooth and does not make a typical 'Diesel Engine' noise. I was disappointed as it gave me a lag in the second gear. Considering that it's top torque between 1600-2800 rpm, it should not happen. Every time I slowed down and tried to rev in the second gear it gave me a lag. So much so that the showroom guy accompanying, couple of times felt that, by mistake, I am trying to pick vehicle up in fourth gear instead of first gear. Once above 2,000 rpm the engine exuberated it's power and the car shot like a bullet. Claimed fuel economy is 17.1 kmpl. Will have to wait till real on-road mileage is known. Gears are not smooth and as I said earlier the gear leaver is little too long. They could have made the gearbox much smoother than what they have intalled.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is very good. The vehicle being taller it gives a majestic feeling. ABS works just fine and I could take sharp turns. Power steering is smooth. Fit and finish of the vehicle is nice.

Final Words The car is very powerful for it's capacityBuy this car as a five seater with loads of bootspace and you will get more than you can expect from a hatchback. If you need a sven seater - go buy Xylo.

Areas of improvement Mahindra can come up with a five seater version, without those two small seats in the last row. The gear rod should be shorter for smooth shift. Smoother gear shift required. Rear A/C vents would be a good idea.

Powerful Engine, Driving Comfort, Width & Shoulder Room, Robust BuiltNo rear A/C vents, Expensive considering that effectively it's a five seater

When I was 1st see the car it looked awsome the exterior is so good, Halogen Headlamp, Fog Light Mahindra famous black front grill...The bonnet comes with heat isolation that keeps the engine. Cool for long trip the c8 comes with 2 airbags for passenger and driver. the steering is is really very huge to hold...not a power steering..as it comes with hyraulic steering which is minor hard but the feedback is so awesome ..the front passenger or driver seat comes with hand rest and fiver side lumbar support. There is very good thigh support ...good quality seat material..integrated music system with four-door speakers and 2 tweeters. On real seat, 3adult can easily seat...the last low is specially for a child but 5'70" person can be seated comfortably ... The wheel is 15 inch Alloy Wheel Whith one spare full size alloy wheel....it gives 20-23 mileage on higway and 16-18 in city...overall performane is awesome. But for car maitainace you should very care full the overall car maintaiance is about 10-12k per year .. So..is the best car if you want to purchase the new one as well as the second hand ....

I bought a Quanto C6 in december 2012 from Shri Durga Automobiles Rama Road New Delhi. I am regreting after buying this car as the service is so poor. The dealer of the service station made so many promises but no result after i purchased it. This is the worst automobiles company in India. I have so many luxury brand car but any of them never got breakdown. This is the first time in my life that my car got breakdown not once but thrice continously even after getting it repaired again and again. This company is not a good option for buying any product from them  as my experience was pathetic. This is my advice to everyone that please do not buy any of their cars as this comany is nothing but a medium to fool the customers.!! i have suffered alot and i am still suffering. I have got it repaired so many times but the condition is still same and now when i call them. They dont answer my call.

I've bought this car for lowest cost possible, I already own Alto, I am 6' tall. My impression : a very comfortable car due to high seating position, ease for keeping idle foot on extra stand( clutch), A very clear view of road and commanding riding position. dont have to bend down and get your self cramped as I had in Alto, Indigo, Swift,Fiesta.

Good for long drive as there is no fatigue in driving this car as it pumps out adequate power to keep you comfortable. A/C is good and give total complement to interiors of the car giving a direct plush look. Cheaper than SWIFT DESIRE where these all features are not available. Car can accomodate 7 to 8 person as required which is very uncofortable in other cars. This is a true value for money car.

      Exterior Very good, no overhang.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent usage of space, truly comfortable, highly utillized intiriors with correct location to fuel lid.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gear Box is butter, steering is well oiled, engine is powerful, economy to be tested.

Ride Quality & Handling Really good ride quality if restricted to 80KMPH. handling is exceptionally well in the range, you are not racing with this car we are cruising and enjoying.

Final Words A total great package for a large family with having awe in people eye.

Areas of improvement The car should be provided with foot mats, and side steps as mandatory, reversing is really very tough so need some camera to get yourself directed if you want to avoid scratches. once stopped needs to get the front clear before launching onto the road.

Good for a familyToo much weight

Exterior Amazing- Not too less, Not too much, just the right blend.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Everything you would expect in a sedan and most things you expect in a SUV.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I m glad I am writing this after having read hundreds od misleading reviews and having test driven the Quanto , Rapid & Vento over and over again. The engine sound is next to none.

Fuel economy is something I would not comment at this stage as I have driven it around 700 kms only and it will take a while for the engine to settle as is in all new vehicles.

Gearbox Had read so much ill about the gearbox being hard and blah, blah. Honestly speaking, I felt it as smooth as my Accent, Ikon and Skoda Rapid.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride Quality My family is happy in the middle seat and my kids enjoy the last row, I wont be stupid to put kids in front and family in last row just for testing purposes. Road handling was excellent on some really curvy and bumpy roads. I had read a lot about body roll and all, yet to experience it.

Final Words Its really by all means a Value for money car, i had the Skoda Rapid, Volks Vento and Duster on my mind, Im happy that I made the right choice and saved some money too.

Areas of improvement None - as of today.

Exterior Stunning Looks for a Mini SUV - first vehicle with a powerful diesel engine in the segment, Would make more heads turn around and see this quality Mini SUV. Would definitely have the Primi Mover advantage and very few from competition can think of pricing below this

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good leg room, head room and a great replacement for the City hatch backs.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Lower engine noise, good pick up , easy and smooth on gear changes.

Ride Quality & Handling Good ride quality and handling , good visibility,  elevated /tall boy seating - a welcome feature for driving in crowded city roads ..  the vehicle I test drove required adjustment on the brakes.

Final Words Great buy at the price and definitely has potential to rule as a leader in the Compact or Mini SUV segment which has been carved out by this wonder

Areas of improvement Second row of seats need improvement with a tilt option. Need to make brakes more effective... may be the one I test drove was not adjusted properly being a test drive vehicle.

Driving comfort, good pick up, lot of value features in the C 8 top end version, and a VFMSecond row of seating needs improvement with a tiltable option/recline option
