Among the slew of hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs, Renault has unveiled a two-door electric GT car called the Trezor. It gives us an idea of the French automaker’s design philosophy for the future as well as the cars they plan to design in the future.
The face is typical Renault with the large logo dominating the centre of the smooth fascia. There is no grille as this is an electric car and what you get instead is ‘J’ shaped LED DRLs which flank two large air vents for the batteries. The overall design is signature GT car with the long hood, low roofline and two-seater cabin which is placed mid-rear. Other noticeable elements include the heavily flared wheel arches and the super thin LED tail lamp strip.
Motivation is borrowed from the same electric motor powering Renault’s Formula E car which produces the equivalent of 350bhp/380Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels and there are two sets of air cooled batteries which have each been placed on the front and rear axle.
Of late, Renault has been producing some amazing looking vehicles (Talisman, Koleos) and if this is the shape of things to come in the future then the Renault line up should be pretty good looking!
